Project duration August 2011 - January 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of the project is to ´Develop an energy-saving, easy to install and affordable SAV E BOX that can be used as an upgrade unit for all water based central heating systems.´ The aim is to offer an energy efficiency measure for existing residential that is both affordable and save at least 10% energy. We believe the project extremely successful and several installations have been tested with good results for almost two heating seasons.

Results and expected effects

The result is a control box that can be installed as an upgrade of existing heating systems, especially in apartment buildings. The cabinet can be sold including installation at a significantly lower price (about 3.5kEUR) than previously complete substations. The effect of the company are expected to be significantly higher sales and an opening towards export markets. Export may advantageously be with one or several industrial partners.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented through internal development of Control Cabinet and Software at NordIQ, and then installation, operation and evaluation in collaboration with several real estate and energy companies. NordIQ was in the fall selected for an evaluation project, where NordIQs technique will be compared with two other competing technologies.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
