Important results from the project
The project Green design in single use items the Mediplast Vomit Bag carried out by NCSH and Mediplast together with several external experts, fulfill thegoal of develop a feasibility study following an innovative methodology. This included an alignment workshop, an LCA analysis, a prototyping workshop and a feedback webinar. The project included the participation of different areas across the company and multiple stakeholders from the academy, material specialists and healthcare authorities.
Expected long term effects
The results of this project have the potential to create long-lasting effects within the sustainable healthcare ecosystem and the MedTech industry in Sweden. The developed methodology offers a strategic framework for companies seeking a sustainability-oriented approach to production challenges. Given the strategic role of the healthcare sector and its considerable environmental impact, this shift could be truly transformative.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented through a very good and effective collaboration between the partners. This strong coordination made it possible to carry out all activities according to the original timeline. The project consisted of four phases, each with its respective activities: 1. Planning workshop 2. LCA analysis 3. Prototyping workshop 4. Feedback webinar All phases were successfully completed. The project did not experience any delays or external factors that altered the original plan.
