Purpose and goal

An increased use of environmentally friendly technologies and procedures for cleaning and sanitizing is expected to lead to less environmental impact through usage of less water, energy, chemicals, and material detoriation - while it must be clean. The newly developed test bed Cleaning Innovation provides independent evaluation of technology, chemicals, materials, equipment and methods for cleaning and disinfection in several lines of business.

Expected results and effects

During the project, we have shown that the test bed Cleaning Innovation fulfills the purpose to support and drive the development and use of new environmental technologies and environmentally friendly processes for cleaning and sanitizing. We have together with external customers made a series of activities / projects, which had the aim to improve or replace current technology with less environmental impact in terms of the consumption of energy, water, materials and chemicals. The test bed is a single entry for customers to easily reach the right expertise.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has gathered existing expertise in microbiology, chemistry, environment, process technology, energy, education, certification and metrology around cleaning and disinfection both in terms of expertise and analytical instruments, equipment and software. Work on the Business Model Canvas has been very important to structure and develop the business model. The development of nine testing services was made through collaboration between experts in different areas for an interdisciplinary offering.
