Project duration December 2011 - November 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project has aimed to increase cooperation between different actors in the nanotechnology field in Sweden and to reach out to international partners . During the project period, held workshops and seminars , organized national and international conferences, presented the Swedish nanotechnology at international arenas and participated in projects that reduce the threshold for the use of nanomaterials and nanotechnology for non- nano companies. This has led to a much greater awareness of the knowledge and expertise that exists in universities.

Results and expected effects

Contacts have been made across disciplinary boundaries between researchers, businesses, governments . Through the founding of the Year Award Nano Enterprises , the jury , people with strong ties to corporate development and finance, had intensive contacts with the nominees , which resulted in the jurors served asadvisors.

Approach and implementation

The work has mainly been done by SwedNanoTech has organized conferences and workshops. A detailed list of these can be found in Appendix 1. It is a far-reaching process for companies to change production methods and to change technology. Understanding, acceptance , ability to obtain financing , time and development are all factors that affect the opportunities for innovation . As nanotechnology is often at an early stage and thus far from commercialization , it is important to increase knowledge of and interest in nanotechnology and facilitate interaction based on real industrial needs
