Government authorities in cooperation against organized crime

Important results from the project

An innovation platform has been created that continues to operate in the spirit of the project, and has since 2021 started delivering within the target area - ie. explore and manage the authorities´ organizational spaces - and run successful pilot projects with a number of government agencies together with municipalities. All employees and managers, who directly or indirectly participated in the project´s activities, agree that this has been valuable and work on an innovative approach should continue. the project both within and between authorities.

Expected long term effects

A mid-term report in Nov 2020 became an important one with 7 recommendations. Among other things, development pilots to produce a broader basis for measures and a developed model for individual government strategies. The project is perceived to have contributed to increasing the initiative´s focus on crime prevention work, which at the phenomenon or system level requires new concepts and methods to, among other things, describe problems and provide examples of how they can be handled. It is one of the direct effects of the project that we are united in these terms.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted entirely within the government assignment the initiative against organized crime. KTH and ICG were responsible for planning and implementation and written documentation as a mid-term and final report. The establishment phase made an analysis to identify a common picture of needs. Design phase produced recommendations and an implementation phase to try and test. The initiative has an innovative organization where a number of challenges were identified that prevent it from reaching full innovation potential why an Innovation Platform was created.
