Important results from the project
The project aimed to develop a database and recruitment tools to uncover and promote underrepresented female R&D experts, supporting gender equality in industry. It targeted over 800,000 female STEM experts and shared insights through partners like ABB, Hitachi, and universities, reaching into classrooms. Exceeding its goals, the project impacted over 2 million individuals, enhanced STEM education efforts, and fostered collaborations with like-minded organizations.
Expected long term effects
The project successfully identified and cataloged global female STEM experts across 61,500 technical skill areas, exceeding its numerical targets. It initiated several discussions with major Swedish industrial companies like ABB, Hitachi, Scania, and Saab, and with institutions including Mälardalens Universitet. Collaborations with organizations such as Teknikföretagen, which runs its own STEM initiative, and project partner Competence, have leveraged these insights to develop STEM educational tracks, reaching over 70,000 young people annually in classroom dialogues.
Approach and implementation
The roles and responsibilities between the project parties were clearly defined throughout the project. Competence primarily handled the engagement with stakeholders (industry and universities), facilitating ongoing dialogues and interviews. Hardskills concentrated on aligning the technical development with these stakeholders´ demands to ensure high utilization rates. Additionally, Competence was tasked with creating dissemination materials, both within and beyond the project´s scope, utilizing insights from Hardskills to ensure accurate interpretation.
