Purpose and goal

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to a sustainable and resilient skills supply in the metals and minerals industry by developing and applying knowledge that promotes an inclusive, equal and safe workplace culture. To achieve this, the work is integrated into the organisations´ existing management and governance structures where key decisions on working environment, risk management, follow-up and improvement work are made.

Expected effects and result

-The industry’s understanding of how working environment, safety, gender, and inclusion interact within workplace cultures has deepened. -Participating companies have developed and implemented approaches for an inclusive, gender-equal, and safe workplace culture, embedded within their existing governance structures. -The project results are accessible to other actors in the industry, ensured through the completion, testing, and dissemination of a digital handbook to relevant target groups.

Planned approach and implementation

The project builds on human work science research on gender, working environment, and safety, and addresses the structural and cultural challenges that currently limit the industry’s ability to attract and retain talent.Together with SSAB, LKAB, and Bruzaholms Bruk, we will develop and apply knowledge integrated into existing governance structures. A reference group with industry associations and the County Administrative Board will help disseminate and anchor the results.
