Call Impact Innovation: Feasibility studies and projects within Social Actions Areas in the program Metals & Minerals

Purpose and goal

On the basis that skills supply requires gender equality, the project brings together gender researchers, experts in user centered methods and companies with a genuine interest in gender equality for a joint knowledge production. The specific purpose of the study is to refine and evaluate the feasibility of the idea, as well as develop a plan for how it will be implemented in future research projects.

Expected effects and result

At the company level, a concept for an inclusive and gender-equal workplace culture is developed, and at the industry level, a proposal for forms of collaboration to enable industry stakeholders to jointly adress gender equality. By also involving the forest sector, the project paves the way for innovations in social sustainability in ways that are expected to engage a wide range of stakeholders in new and expanded partnerships.

Planned approach and implementation

During the project, LTU and RISE are collaborating with participating companies (Alleima, AB Bruzaholms Bruk, and SCA Skog) to develop a concept for a gender-equal and inclusive workplace culture that can be implemented within the metal and mineral industry. Through interviews with key stakeholders, a proposal for collaboration forms between industry actors focusing on gender equality is also created, which is compiled into a plan for continued research and development.
