Purpose and goal

The project aims to build capacity and expertise within key organisations engaged in transport planning regarding how generative AI can enable more robust analyses and more effective collaboration across planning levels and domains of subject-matter expertise, thereby strengthening the conditions for developing attractive, gender-equal, equitable, and long-term sustainable accessibility solutions within the complex multi-level governance landscape that underpins public transport in Sweden.

Expected effects and result

1) The project will directly contribute to capacity and competence building for generative AI implementation in the participating planning authorities (Trafikverket/Region Stockholm/Huddinge municipality); 2) The project will also contribute to joint reflective learning about opportunities and risks associated with the use of generative AI in planning practice; 3) The project also strengthens collaboration at both organizational and project level between the participating planning authorities.

Planned approach and implementation

The project brings together key employees in state, region and municipality who work on planning accessibility and mobility solutions for the development area Flemingsberg. These are trained and coached in the use of generative AI (genAI), and then guided through a joint reflexive co-creation process that explores the tools´ possibilities and limitations in contributing to attractive, equal, equitable and long-term sustainable accessibility solutions for Flemingsberg.
