Important results from the project
The purpose of Future welfare services 2.0 is to further develop and validate the SIDSSA approach developed in a previous project and study its effects on new organizations and units. The goal is increased knowledge on innovation and development processes in participating organizations concurrent with the test of the assumptions, strategies and instruments of SIDSSA. In Step one the goal was to establish a good base for a future joint action research project and together with participating organizational partners write a full application.
Expected long term effects
Long term contacts have been established with partly new actors and a mapping of the current situation and needs for development was performed. Partner organizations are strategic support units in two county councils and one region. A project plan and a step 2 application have been developed. The project will provide knowledge on how different conditions affect learning, problem solving, creativity and development of innovative solutions in health and social care and can contribute to new development approaches and improved quality of services.
Approach and implementation
An action research approach with flexibility and problem solving is used to investigate, develop, influence and be influenced by situations in the participating organizations, combining research, action and participation. A variation of the basic research questions are tested in three cases depending on initial organizational situation. Ex.: Can a SIDSSA strategy contribute to a county council support unit´s facilitation approach? How can SIDSSA´s instruments contribute to analyses, priority setting, planning and implementation of an organizational development process?
