Purpose and goal
The aim of the project is to develop new knowledge about how young people make educational and career choices in collaboration with schools, industry and science centers. Based on this, a working model for the development of inclusive and locally anchored STEM narratives is developed, which are tested in workshops and public activities at science centers, in order to meet challenges in regional skills supply.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in a deeper understanding of how STEM interest is shaped in different social and regional contexts. It will provide research-based publications, new methods for making technical career paths visible, and tools that strengthen guidance and teaching. In the longer term, it will create conditions for broadened recruitment, increased regional attractiveness, and a more sustainable supply of skills in industry-relevant areas.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in four stages: first, young people´s experiences and identities linked to STEM are mapped. Then, new narratives and tools are developed through co-creation between students, teachers, researchers, industry and science centers. These prototypes are tested and refined in schools and public environments. Finally, effects on interest and identity are evaluated, and the results are disseminated nationally in usable formats for education and industry.
