Project duration November 2018 - November 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project´s objectives and goal has been to develop and verify prototypes that at the end of the project results in at least two working prototypes - fully operational in a store. The prototypes can then potentially be commercialized as a next step after that this project has ended. The project has succeeded in developing no less than three working prototypes. All of which have also been refined in detail, well beyond minimum viable product. There is now also a clear picture of both the value provided and what functions that works practically in the daily store operations.

Expected results and effects

The project has specified and developed three prototypes that, as a result of the project, have been proven to add value to the daily store operations procedures - through simplification and digitization. Next step is now to plan for development of a production worthy and scale able software service and with that services developed then address a wider number of retail players and potentially also create an export product in the form of one or more SaaS services.

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s ambition to work closely with the end users and in small steps evolve working prototypes towards a desired end state has been a continuous red thread through out the project. The project, with the exception of initial challenges to link the right developer resources to the project, has been able to keep up with the project plan without major deviations. Trying out new prototype-based solutions in the midst of an ongoing store operations has been a major challenge - it has sometimes even been necessary to stop tests in order not to negatively impact daily operations.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
