Important results from the project

The aim was to offer alternative educational environments outside the classroom and schoolrestaurant, to test new models around learning about sustainable meals and localy producerad food. The opportunity to taste a sample of small dishes in different environments has aroused curiosity and brought new perspectives. The goal was to create attitudinal and behavioral changes. This is a long-term work, but we are heading in the right direction as the majority of the students showed interest and willingness to taste. And a lot of them were positive even after they tasted it.

Expected long term effects

The project has involved experience-based elements in the teaching and contributed to different professions working together while the students were involved. We expected that the different environment and the collaboration between different actors would have a positive impact on the students attitude towards sustainable food. And that was the result. The meal environment, the atmosphere and the way the dishes are presented and served mean a lot to the experience of the meal. Student participation is also an important success factor.

Approach and implementation

That people learn in interaction with other people and the environment around them is a wellknown fact. The foodtruck added value, but perhaps not as much as we first thought. It is not necessary for the working process with a portable learning environment. We felt that the arrangement around the foodmarket with 1000 students was too big to row, but now in retrospect we are grateful that so many students participated. Several of them still return to the market day in the conversations. The outdoor days were also successful and added values. We will continue the good work and develop it further.
