Purpose and goal
The project objective was to verify an innovation of a filter-less air sampler. Substances in air are transported on particles. Normally, the method for sampling of air is to suck air through a filter which is then leached. Particles smaller than the filter´s mesh will pass strait through. We have been able to verify that the innovation works. The main target for this project has been achieved.
Results and expected effects
We have been able to verify that our invention for a filter-less air sampling system works as a koncept. A filter-less air sampling system will allow more accurate analysis of air samples thus it compared to present methods based on filter applications. A filter less air sampling system will have numerous applications, for example, the collection of bacteria and viruses, the analysis of sick buildings, when search for drugs, bombs and explosives amd much more. We se this innovation as a platform for a new product for our company
Approach and implementation
The project was a close cooperation with scientists from Stockholm University. Envic-Sense was responsible for the project management and construction of a prototype which was reconstructed 3 times during the project. In order to verify how much collected substance was transmitted from a given volume ot air siilconpowder was contaminated with TNT and a special TNT sensor was developed for analysis.
