Figracy - Barcode independent Crowd sourced support for online cloth shopping

Purpose and goal

The Figuracy app (downloadable from Apple´s app store) provides a unique method, to solve a growing problem in the online fashion industry i.e. to find clothes that fit. It matches the consumers´ selections of clothes that really fit with each other. We provide new alternatives to the old items that is most likely fitting. We provide clothes to customers that really fit, at the same time as we lover the transport. Today the returned items in online fashion is as high as 60% on a purchase, and the environmental cost is increasing with the current expansion of online sales.

Results and expected effects

The project promised to result in a specification of a new system, as well as in increased knowledge on business aspects and opportunities and customer benefits of ´bar code independent crowd sourcing´ to get clothes that fit. In specfic we promised to deliver: Specification of system concept. Support for research on complementing services Patent application Funding for continued research All goals are met except the last.

Approach and implementation

1: Consumer validation through 10 interviews with users conducted in December 2014. Remains to be published at research conference. 2: Business validation to increase the understanding of the the potential of bar code free in put we discussed the idea with experts in the field. A series of interviews have been done, which has influenced the updated business plan, and will also be influencing the scientific report. 3 Development of system generated in the project for Iphone at the app-store since October 2014.
