Important results from the project
The project achieved its goal of testing a place-based approach to understanding young people´s food environments. In collaboration with students and staff at Ronnaskolan in Södertälje, we developed and tested methods including mapping, walking interviews and co-creative workshops. The results include concrete insights, quality criteria and ideas for further development in schools and urban planning.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to raise awareness of food environments as a key area for school development, public health and urban planning. The method supports youth engagement and provides tools for collaboration between schools, municipalities and local businesses to create more sustainable and attractive food environments.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out over five months in collaboration with Södertälje municipality and Ronnaskolan. Students took part in digital mapping, foodscape walks and workshops. The setup worked well due to close cooperation with the school. The timeline was kept, and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders worked very well.
