Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is to provide a detailed evaluation of opportunities, challenges, and required resources, ensuring a strong foundation for the establishment of a bilateral Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Sustainable City/Society with a special focus on water, wastewater, sludge and potential energy solutions based on this. The project includes market analysis and development of a potential business model for the CoE including site and potential collaborating partners.

Expected effects and result

The feasibility study will provide a strategic direction for the establishment of the Sweden India CoE, ensuring its long-term sustainability and impact in the water, wastewater, and energy recovery sectors. A comprehensive feasibility report outlining the market potential, financial viability, and strategic roadmap for the CoE in water, wastewater, and energy recovery and Strengthened partnerships between Swedish and Indian stakeholders in sustainable water and energy management.

Planned approach and implementation

Approach includes: Stakeholder Consultation: Engage with relevant Swedish and Indian stakeholders; Market Research: Conduct industry analysis, demand assessment, and competitive benchmarking; Policy & Regulatory Review: Identify key regulatory challenges and incentives; Financial Modelling: Developing financing scenarios, investment requirements and potential revenue streams; Pilot Case Studies: Identify and analyze potential pilot projects.
