Feasibility study and development of prerequisites for companies within Greentech

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project is to strengthen the knowledge of how to develop greentech companies and to develop collaboration between different actors around greentech startups at national and international level. The project has significantly increased understanding of the Greentech domain´s opportunities and challenges throughout the innovation chain from idea to a successful startup. The project has also resulted in cooperation between incubators in four Nordic countries as well as enhanced local cooperation in Gothenburg, which will be further developed after the project.

Expected results and effects

The project has reached all of its overall objectives and goals as follows: 1) A plan for establishing an annual recurring international innovation competition in greentech. 2) Establishment of a pre-incubator program focusing on greentech. 3) Establishment of a collaboration between a number of Nordic incubators focused on greentech. 4) Development of a regional enterprise cluster for peer-to-peer cooperation, exchange of experiences and promotion of greentech start-ups (#greenUps). All target areas will also be further developed after project completion

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been built around the entire innovation chain from idea to a successful startup with four work packages: 1) Feasibility study -Innovation contest - greentech hackathon. 2) Development of Startup Camp with greentech focus 3) International collaboration and dissemination of greentech 4) Development of clusters for greentech startups. The main part of the work has been performed by and at Chalmers Ventures, but in collaboration with different actors such as LTH, DTU, NTNU, Alto University, RISE, BRG, Sustainable Development West, Gothenburg Energy, GU Ventures, etc.
