Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to develop a technical solution that facilitates the opening of private and public spaces after Covid-19. Guidelines and knowledge of how covid-19 is spread have constantly changed during the project period, and the development had to adapt to the changing situation. The project resulted in a product that gives venues the ability to quickly adapt public spaces and areas where crowds gather to reduce the spread of infection.

Expected long term effects

During the project, it became apparent that different environments had different needs for how information was to be delivered. In a quiet environment, an friendly voice could be desired and for larger areas, displays and dashboards that could easily be read were better suited. The staff has a need for the information to improve operations safety and visitors wanted information that helped them to avoid possibly contagious situations. The produced solution achieve this for both users groups.

Approach and implementation

The technical development and investigations were performed according to plans. However, the pandemic lead to many changes regarding the implementation of the pilots in the project. Mostly due to the fact that the intended premises and activities for the pilot were closed down. New guidelines were part of this, as were furlough of staff in the piloting partners. this led to frequent changes to the technology in order to accommodate to new circumstances. This finally led to a product architecture that can be easily adapted to changing environments and needs.
