Important results from the project
Potential customers in molecular pathology have been identified and two demo instruments procured. Due to delayed delivery of these instruments, they will be placed with customers in Q1 2014. A collaboration has been established with an automation provider and the automation of combined DNA/RNA extraction from frozen tissues was completed in Q4 2013. A process for DNA extraction from paraffin embedded tissues has been developed during 2013.
Expected long term effects
During drafting of the launch plan, it was found that additional efforts were required to have a satisfactory offering from a regulatory point of view; for this reason, the sales efforts were held back for an increased attention to quality control systems and CE/IVD labelling.
Approach and implementation
Relative to the application, the product launch has been delayed to 2014 to complete CE marking and validation of the FFPE product.
