Evaporated electrode rings in medical catheters

Reference number
Coordinator CathPrint AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 266 000
Project duration November 2010 - November 2012
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

CathPrint has a technology that can be used for komplex catheters, e.g. catheters with electrodes, sensors and lumens for provision of nutrient fluid. This technology which has been evaluated for a few customers saves ~50% of the production cost. It will be even more efficient if electrode rings are deposited by vacuum evaporation. Preliminary tests of this concept have been carried out in co-operation with Acreo. The results are so promising that they motivate development and industrialization of the concept.
