Important results from the project
Contacts have been created within 4LIFE between companies, health economists, physicists, hepatologists and surgeons. 4LIFE has been very valuable for developing the prototype and the industrial partner has managed to secure funding from both Sweden and internationally for further development. The funding will now be used to commercialize liver measurements. the project participants are also working on implementing the methodology at another university hospital.
Expected long term effects
A method of early evaluation of health consequences and healthcare costs has been developed in order to assess the costs and health effects that arise. The health effects of 4LIFE could be attained to a healthcare cost which is considered reasonable.
Approach and implementation
4LIFE meant that close cooperation between clinic, academia and business was created. The collaboration proved to be very rewarding and made it possible to create values in this operationally very challenging, but urgent project. 4LIFE has helped to develop and deepen knowledge with focus on new applications.
