Purpose and goal

The aim of this project has been to develop an improved cellulose product that can compete with cellulose products with very high alpha cellulose content in applications with high quality demands. The project has been a great success. Domsjö have produced a new highly refined product and has also developed its know-how in the area of producing high end products. Domsjö has also developed its expertise in the area of optimizing the use of our products in the process of our customers.

Expected results and effects

The aim and the goal of the project have been fulfilled. The newly developed product will be launched in other segments and will enhance the competitiveness of Domsjö Fabriker. The new product will also increase our presence in high value segments of the dissolving pulp market. We think that the new knowledge that has been generated can generate new innovations in other areas. The project has also strengthened the relation with our project partner. Our aim is to go through with similar projects in the future.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has basically followed the project plan. Key activities have been the preparation, execution and analysis of the mill trials at Domsjö and at our project partner. Other key activities have been laboratory studies and meetings, both internally and together with our project partner. In the meeting there has been a large number of open discussions were information has been shared. Sharing of information has had a large impact of the success of the project.
