ENHANCEMENT OF VOLATILE FATTY ACID PRODUCTION FROM DAIRY WASTEWATER
Reference number | |
Coordinator | KUNGLIGA TEKNISKA HÖGSKOLAN - Institutionen för kemiteknik |
Funding from Vinnova | SEK 30 000 |
Project duration | August 2016 - August 2016 |
Status | Completed |
Purpose and goal
The aims of the projects were to further investigate the conditions at KTH, start a collaboration between KTH and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and complete the details for full proposal before submitting to Vinnmer Marie Curie Incoming Grant. All goals have been fulfilled in the scope of the planning grant.
Expected results and effects
Waste streams represent a substantial resource for value-added industrial products, particularly given the increasing energy and feedstock demand. Volatile fatty acids (VFAs) are considered as one of these valuable products and they are extensively used in various industries. However, the knowledge and application on VFA production and recovery from waste streams are limited. For this purpose, a full proposal entitled ´ENHANCEMENT OF VOLATILE FATTY ACID PRODUCTION FROM DAIRY WASTEWATER´ was submitted to Vinnmer Marie Curie Incoming call.
Planned approach and implementation
A cooperation was developed to discuss laboratory opportunities, mentorship, networks, financial support possibilities which cannot be covered by VINNMER funding, leadership training course, professional administrative support, pedagogical training course, etc. Also the full proposal was submitted.
