Call Innovation management - contribute to the use of knowledge for increased innovation capability, 2019.

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to delineate how measurement of innovation should be designed and implemented to allow for enhanced innovative capabilities. In the short run this is accomplished by implementing a measurement system for innovation in two companies Electrolux och Norrmejerier where existing methods and tools are tried and adapted to the needs of each company. In the long run, the purpose is to enhance innovative capabilities broadly in Swedish manufacturing industry by diffusing “best practices” in innovation measurement by means of new service offerings.

Expected effects and result

Expected results include that more companies utilize existing knowledge in innovation measurement to better organize and manage innovation. In addition, two manufacturing companies Electrolux och Norrmejerier will get support to implement a measurement system for innovation to develop their innovative capabilities. Finally, new service offerings in innovation measurement is created by an intermediary organization, United Minds.

Planned approach and implementation

The project takes a starting point in the innovation opportunities, innovation strategies and current situations of the participating companies. In subsequent work packages, the project follows the roadmap for innovation measurement which was developed in the book “Innovationsstark” (see innovationsstark.se) to design, implement and continuously follow up innovation measurement over time. In addition, the project plans for several workshops where external companies and organizations will be invited to broadly diffuse the project results.
