Reference number
Coordinator SP Sveriges Tekniska Forskningsinstitut AB - Energiteknik, Borås
Funding from Vinnova SEK 430 000
Project duration July 2013 - December 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The Aim of the project was to catalyze the development and commercialization of new processes and products from renewable materials and create opportunities for growth and development towards a sustainable society. Within the project, we have identified the need for a test-bed within biorefinery area, identified our role and analyzed how a test-bed in this field can help to catalyze development and worked to develop business models for how to proceed.

Results and expected effects

Cooperation and information exchange took place mainly through project meetings and site visits. During the project time LTH was included in the project group to complete the test-bed. The project included, e.g. a compilation of physical resources and skills connected to the test-bed, a questionnaire-based survey of market potential and a compilation of other similar facilities in Europe and a workshop with an organizational consultant to prepare for an establishment. Participants will continue to work towards an establishment of a test-bed within the biorefinery field.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented through activities in various work packages (see results in the annex). Project meetings were conducted in combination with field trips and these, like the dialogue, have been important during the process. The inclusion of stakeholders in the project that were not included in the beginning, but that was soon identified as important also strengthened the project, which also the workshop with an organizational consultant, conducted in conjunction with a project meeting, did.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
