Important results from the project

The project successfully refined CelluCircle’s commercialization strategy resulting in EIC application. We updated our business plan with improved technoeconomic analysis using realistic cost data from industrial trials. This included analyzing pre- and post-processing steps. Key goals are building a 30 ton/year pilot in 2026, scaling to 500 ton/year, and establishing a decentralized model with local textile sorters to minimize transport and create jobs.

Expected long term effects

The findings in this project will help us understand what type of investments we need and at which stages of scale up. We expect according to the results to have the need of only two investment rounds while we expect to be self-sustained after the deployment of the first 500-ton/year unit. At the same time, we expect the work done for the EIC application to help us apply to more EU funding. Last, we expect this project to be our foundation for the feasibility of our textile recycling plants.

Approach and implementation

The project was mostly completed internally. We updated the technoeconomic analysis document based on our industrial trials performed in collaboration with partners such as RISE and Wargön Innovation. Based on the identified needs we have collected quotes from the suppliers for the equipment and chemicals to have a realistic estimation of the CAPEX and OPEX. The EIC application was written internally and all the relevant materials such as the pitch and video were prepared in our premises.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
