Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Projektet EFFECT´s objective is to greatly reduce material waste when manufacturing C-frames and to make the construction phase itself simpler and more robust. The methodology that has been developed together with the RISE test bed Compraser Labs shows that it is possible with the help of Automatic Fiber Placement (AFP ) technology construct a product in a more efficient way, which not only uses less material but also has better properties.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has resulted in a methodology for using AFP technology to produce a product that uses ~74% less material while having better properties. The hope is that this will lead to increased opportunities to compete with existing products on the market.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The implementation of the project has been affected by the world situation and the fact that AFP needs a new mold of the starting material (tows). Both of these factors have contributed to the fact that the necessary material has been difficult to acquire. Which resulted in an extension of the project. The collaboration between CSE AB and RISE testbed Compraser Labs has worked well and both have largely contributed to developing a more efficient method for constructing the C-frames which also reduces the cost of the final product.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
