Purpose and goal
Spacemetric´s primary task in the project was to store and manage the image data produced within the project, and to display this data in its user interface. Spacemetric´s goal has partly been to have the opportunity to collaborate with other organizations that we would not otherwise have worked with, and partly to have the opportunity to work with several different types of images, mainly from UAVs. This increases the breadth of the image types that Spacemetric´s image data management software Keystone is able to handle, which makes the software more competitive.
Expected results and effects
One important result is that in our Keystone image data software, we can now display image data, both as images and as different types of maps, in different user interfaces. We have also developed new interfaces to our Keystone server, new tools to investigate and support new image formats, and a new stand-alone module that i.a. can read UAV images. The expected effect is that our software will be more attractive on the market. Another result of our collaboration with several organizations, from Sweden and from other participating countries, is that this will lead to future collaboration.
Planned approach and implementation
AFarCloud comprised 60 entities from 13 countries. Spacemetric were one of the smallest participants in terms of number of working hours. The project was divided into working groups and demonstrators. A major meeting was held every six months. A demo was also held every year. We participated in working groups, participated as support for other demonstrations, and participated in one of the final demonstrations. The project initially had difficulty finding a good work structure, something which was resolved towards the end of the project.
