Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop and validate a high-temperature borehole-based thermal storage system (VHT-BTES) (110–140°C). The system integrates solar thermal, underground storage and a digital twin to enable efficient, scalable and emission-free heating in urban areas.
Expected effects and result
The project delivers a validated VHT-STORAGE-system, a digital twin platform and a soil remediation solution. The results enable near-emission-free heating, reduce energy costs, strengthen sustainable cities and contribute to Europe´s energy security and competitiveness.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented through system design, site analysis, installation and validation. A pilot plant is demonstrated and supported by digital twin, modeling and monitoring. The partners collaborate in engineering, research and commercialization.
