Purpose and goal

The purpose of the Eurostar project was to develop a binder formulation for a pad print process and subsequent metallization of the pad print pattern. The goal of developing a cost-effective metallization process with a newly developed binder formulation for PAD print for e.g . different high-frequency antenna applications have been met.

Expected results and effects

The results of the project are optimised binder formulations for 10 different commercial polymers. Line widths on metallized PAD print patterns down to 30 m have been demonstrated. High frequency applications in the antenna range are one of several applications. Commercialization of the technology will be calculated within 1-3 years.

Planned approach and implementation

The Eurostar project´s development plan was an approach and implementation in 3 steps. 1. Development of binders and binder formulation for PAD print and metallization 2. Process optimisation of binder formulation, PAD print and metallization 3. Testing and optimisation at a commercial PCB manufacture .
