Important results from the project
A system for purifying exhaust from commercial kitchens has been developed in this Eurostars project. The system entails significant cost savings and increased performance with respect to purification of these gases, especially at very heavy cooking such as frying at high temperature, grilling and deep frying, where large amounts of small particles, VOCs and strong odors are formed and emitted. In addition, the system keeps the kitchen ducts clean from fat deposits, which significantly reduces fire risks and insurance premiums for business owners.
Expected long term effects
The project opens up the possibility of establishing a new business segment, Centriair Kitchen, for the company. Due to the high performance in combination with the affordable cost, the system can be used for commercial kitchens with high requirements on exhaust gas cleaning, but becomes relevant as well for customers with limited investment ability. For Centriair, the project enables further growth within the Food processing segment.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in collaboration with KTH and 3nine as well as two international partners in commercial kitchens and kitchen ventilation. The system has been taken via prototype and pilot version to zero series, which is now the basis for a commercial unit.
