Call Test and demo of advanced digitization in a real environment

Purpose and goal

Project will, through tests and demonstrations, create the conditions for a commercially viable system solution for teleoperation, where productivity and machine availability are critical in the same way as cyber security and organizational changes. The goal is to achieve a teleoperated solution that can be scaled up, not only in the mining industry and tunneling, but also in other applications.

Expected effects and result

A system that means that people do not need to be physically in dangerous environments, such as in the mine tunnel, means that the risk of inadvertently exposing people to danger can be eliminated. The shortage of skilled operators and younger generation has different eligibility requirements and wishes for the work environment than before. Digitalization of work steps has proven to be a way forward as the "dirty, boring and dangerous" work environment can be replaced by a office-based workplace

Planned approach and implementation

Carry out a mobility evaluation to test the flexibility of the system. Gap analysis and mitigation plan for service and maintenance. Map and evaluate how the organization and employees are affected by the introduction of new technology. Study how the operator station and user interface should be designed. Create knowledge about how a system is technically safe and legally correct. Conducting comparative productivity tests as well as estimating the potential of future improvements.
