Purpose and goal

The results of the DYMOBUS project were successfully disseminated to various stakeholders and led to further collaboration projects. The project became well-known within the public transport sector in Sweden and even received media coverage. The project was also visible in Almedalen, K2 and KTH impact book. The simulation model is now used for several projects in Stockholm including a dynamic evaluation of alternative underground extensions. There on-going discussions about potential implementations in other places.

Results and expected effects

The DYMOBUS project results were disseminated through various conferences, seminars and meeting with relevant stakeholders across Sweden. In particular, the implications and potential future applications were discussed with managers in public transport authorities, public transport operators, policy makers in the transport sector and fellow researchers. The promising results of DYMOBUS have led SLL to conduct an extended demonstration trial to further test the applicability of the new control strategy towards a full-scale implementation.

Approach and implementation

The project was designed to maximize the impact of results dissemination through several channels: 1. General public and transport sector - media coverage (general and professional), Almedalsveckan, KTH impact book 2. Public transport authorities and operators - dedicated meetings, KTH executive school, KTH Public transport day 3. Research environment - CTS seminar, Transportforum, K2 seminar, CTR website The dissemination was aimed to create awareness to the project and then was followed up by dedicated meetings to facilitate specific discussions.
