Important results from the project
The pre-study has established a common national focus initiative for data-driven product realization, with clear industrial need and broad mobilization. It shows that advanced digital infrastructure is crucial to halve costs linked to uncertainty, variation and risk when used for product realisation. Synergies with testbeds and other initiatives, strong partnerships and a focus on leadership and competence secure the conditions for industrial transformation and competitiveness.
Expected long term effects
The feasibility study lays the foundation for how to achieve stronger Swedish competitiveness through a national direction for data-driven product realization. Better management of uncertainty and risk results in lower costs, shorter lead times and higher quality. New networks and collaboration models increase the ability for industrial transformation and accelerate the development of sustainable, resilient and resource-efficient products with increased value creation in Sweden.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented according to plan with the right activities: needs analysis, industry dialogue, strategic analysis, workshops and partner mobilization. The schedule worked and the collaboration was positive and utilized well-established forms of collaboration. No major external obstacles or unexpected events affected the approach. The feasibility study developed as intended and resulted in broad support, a clear strategy and strong industrial support for the next phase.
