Call Impact Innovation: Feasibility studies within Technological Action Areas in the program Metals & Minerals

Important results from the project

The project has produced the results that were planned. The project is a feasibility study where the goal has been to map out whether a full-scale project can address the most important obstacles that stand in the way of switching to more environmentally friendly heat treatment methods. New applications for research projects are now being planned as a result of the project

Expected long term effects

In the longer term, the results from the subsequent projects will be important for companies when switching to more environmentally friendly heat treatment methods. Companies will get a clearer overview of what it means to switch and can avoid many pitfalls. This will make it significantly easier for companies to finally make the decision to switch.

Approach and implementation

Within the project, a number of workshops have been held, partly with the entire project group, partly with each participating company. 6 of these were held at the companies with participants from different parts of the companies. Interviews with furnace manufacturers and strategic analysis have also been carried out. From this, an activity plan for the transition to more environmentally friendly heat treatment methods has been designed and drafts of full-scale projects have been developed.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
