Important results from the project

The major results came in understanding how to combine range and Doppler data from multiple distributed units, and assemble them into a radar image. We also put a lot of effort into complexity reduction of the methods we used. These results have been presented in various contexts. We also increased our understanding of the need for synchronization, and how to handle synchronization errors. This understanding will help us in future further development.

Expected long term effects

We are currently leading a radar project within "VINNOVA EXCELLENCE CLUSTER"" that received funding, in preparation for a larger proposal next year. It would have been difficult without our work here. Many companies are participating, and other universities, so the networking has received a big push. In addition, the technical results will provide a basis for future development of distributed radar networks.

Approach and implementation

The project was divided into a number of work packages (WP) with different responsible persons. We had regular meetings across all WPs, but the work was done within each WP. Over time, it turned out that some issues we thought would be dominant did not need as much attention, while other areas became more important, so the staffing had to be moved around a bit. Some parts were not covered at all and will have to be moved to a future project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
