Purpose and goal
The purpose and goal is to develop and demonstrate a concept for a highly automated value chain with digital methods and tools for "remanufacturing" (where products can be restored to acceptable function, or even improved). This type of industry is already well established in various industries, but there are also growing needs and many new opportunities. Especially within Aerospace, it is a clearly identified area with both good business opportunities, but it is also necessary to find better methods that meet the requirements for new products, e.g. for conversion to non-fossil fuels.
Expected effects and result
The expected results are to find the following solutions, with an effect on efficiency or revenues: 1 Methods for tolerance management of very complex geometries on individual parts 2 Simulation of Additive Manufacturing & effects of heat deformations 3 Method for automated path planning to remove surface defects 4 Application & evaluation of ISO standards for information exchange 5 Develop & evaluate an integrated value flow with process preparation as services from suppliers 6 Investigate added value for new types of services that a data-driven value flow can provide
Planned approach and implementation
Traditional project methodologies will be used from the start and throughout the major part of the project. The work is organised in 5 technical Work Packages, that will develop and deliver the solutions listed in "Results & Effects" above. In addition, one Work Package for Demonstrations, integrating the individual results, and one Work Package for project management etc. For the demonstrator activities, methods inspired by agile way-of-working will be used to synchronize the different step by step tests, evaluations and demonstration activities.
