Important results from the project
The goal of the project has been to identify and illuminate behaviors that affect waiting times and care times for men and women in the Emergency Care room at Karolinska University Hospital. Veryday´s findings and clear recommendations have proven to be immensely useful to Karolinska´s management in their work towards gender equality within Swedish healthcare. Veryday has used a norm-critical innovation process that will enrich partnerships with large, international and influential companies.inflytelserika internationella företag.
Expected long term effects
The result of Veryday´s study is a selection of customer experience solutions. A descriptive film shows how user-friendly services can neutralize gender-related behaviors, resulting in more equal care. Karolinska´s management is very interested in Veryday´s findings and has already begun implementing them for internal education purposes. Veryday also has other stakeholders who are planning on using the insights found in this study to promote gender equality within healthcare.
Approach and implementation
Veryday has performed in-depth interviews with healthcare providers at Karolinska and observed the care flow in order to gain a real understanding of the mechanisms that drive the patient-caregiver relationship, but also relationships between patients. The designers have continuously taken part in workshops and discussions with Vinnova´s gender researchers. Veryday has used their qualitative research methods like co-creation and emotional mapping? to come to solid insights and recommendations.
