Development of a Breakthrough MicroLED Display Catalysing the Next-Gen Wearable and Head-up Displays

Purpose and goal

Polar Light Technologies develops microLEDs and the goal for this project is to demonstrate a display with 2 colours. This is a step towards a full colour display.

The expected result is a 2-color display

Planned approach and implementation

The first part of the project is to develop a microLED on a substrate that has two colors. Then these two colors will be connected together with a CMOS backplane. Detta CMOS backplane controls each microLED individually. Then we will have a 2-color screen. Finally, we will characterize screens to understand and see results such as brightness and quality.
