Purpose and goal

In Australia several certified private service providers are operating the market and the authorities would like to see an increasing number of operators. More operators creates more competition and at the same time provides greater flexibility for the logistics companies. It has been essential to ensure a well-functioning ecosystem connecting to IAP and HCT. The ecosystem should include a market of several competing service providers and suppliers of hardware. During the project time a shift in focus has occurred from IAP as the next step for the access control.

Results and expected effects

The project has contributed to the report for the governmental directive. A report has also been finalized in the form of the ITK- report for heavier and longer vehicles. Furthermore, the content of the project has been presented on several occasions - The ITS Europe in Helsinki June 18 - During the HVTT13 conference in San Luis, 27 to 31 October Cooperation between Sweden and Australia will also continue between the Swedish Transport Administration and Transport Certification Australia. The project has also led to spin-off activities in the form of cooperation on a H2020 application.

Approach and implementation

During the project period, regular meetings have been held in the project group and with the Australian partners, Transport Certification Australia and TransTech. The visit to Australia was replaced by a visit from Gavin Hill from TCA, Transport Certification Australia. Gavin was for instance invited to Closer. The project has worked with basically two main tracks; input to the governmental assignment and finalizing the report on ITK deployment. Lars-Göran Malmberg and Erik Jansson from the University of Gothenburg also contributed to the report.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
