Important results from the project

The project has greatly contributed to creating new knowledge and experience in the design, development and production of a hyperlight carbon fiber fuselage for the VCraft 125 unmanned aerial system. The project also achieved the high design requirements for maximum weight for the carbon fiber fuselage, thus creating a very good foundation for continued development of this unmanned aerial system.

Expected long term effects

This project creates an opportunity for Swedish companies to continue developing advanced unmanned aerial systems that can solve a variety of socially beneficial missions and tasks in a sustainable and economically advantageous way.

Approach and implementation

The project was led by VCraft Aeronautics with support from RISE and designated subcontractors. RISE´s part in the project was expert knowledge and conduction of tests. The project was carried out in accordance with the WBS that was initially developed but the project needed to be extended by nine months due to delayed deliveries of carbon fiber for both carbon fiber molds and carbon fiber components. However, this created more time for analysis and design work that benefited the project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
