Important results from the project

The project further developed and tested Demand Acceleration methodology to promote climate-smart and circular solutions through procurement. The goals were met, with concrete cases, tools and an MVP guide as results. The project also contributed to the establishment of Demand Acceleration Community and a digital knowledge platform, and gave rise to new collaborations, international policy initiatives and long-term structures for learning and dissemination.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to contribute to public procurement being used more strategically to drive transformation and the development of scalable solutions. Through the Demand Acceleration methodology and the established community create a long-term structure for joint learning and method development. This could can lead to new ways of working in the public sector, strengthened innovation systems and improved policy tools for circularity and climate benefits, both nationally and internationally

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented according to plan through five WPs, focusing on method development, case implementation, business development, scaling model and evaluation, learning and dissemination. The approach worked well and was continuously adapted in line with new insights. The collaboration worked very well, and the project gave rise to several parallel initiatives. No major external obstacles arose, but the uncertainty in procurement processes required flexibility in implementation.
