Purpose and goal

The technical development of products for the performance increase of Nylon Plastic ended in autumn 2013 with a successful result. The final part of the market launch of three products for the modification of various Nylon Plastics has begun. Tests are performed by potential customers and the final investigations with respect to health and environment (REACh) is ongoing. As soon as the investigations are completed, three products under the brand name of NEXAMITE is to be launched on the market. This is expected during the first half of 2014.

Results and expected effects

The goal of developing additive products to crosslink nylon resins consisting of multifunctional cross-linker and reactive diluent based on Nexams crosslinking technology is successfully finished. The products provide a crosslinking system that can be melt-modified into various types of nylon resins via a traditional compounding process. The crosslinkers works for all kind of non-reinforced and fiber reinforced materials, filled and unfilled materials and mixtures comprising for example nylon 6 and nylon 66 resins.

Approach and implementation

The technical activity, which has been divided into three parts, has been supplemented by two activities in order to minimize the time to market. Scale-up and handling of legal issues and the development of marketing documentation and evaluation together with potential customers in order to make market introduction as fast as possible. Both of these activities have been going on in parallel with the technical activities throughout the project.
