Important results from the project
The purpose of VFT-1 at the Luleå University of Technology (LTU) is to increase the maturity of business concepts and thereby reduce the gap to commercialization through effective verification and validation in early stages. The related goals have been to manage 25 unique verification projects on a yearly basis during the project period. 2015 - 25 projects 2016- 31 projects 2017- 38 projects
Expected long term effects
The effects of the VFT-1 project can be estimated by the number of business concepts that have moved forward to be accepted into the growth incubator. This metric does not tell the full story, but does provide a useful idea of the effects. 2015 - 2 companies to the incubator 2016- 4 companies to the incubator 2017- 2 companies to the incubator
Approach and implementation
VFT-1 project is run as an integrated part of the innovation support services at LTU. All funding decisions and management of activities and costs are handled as part of the continuous work done with business coaching and verification. Funding is always granted in relation to individual activities as proposed by the business coach running the project. There is no open call for applications to VFT-1 that students or researchers can apply to for funding. VFT-1 is rather used as and when considered effective for the coaching and verification process.
