Purpose and goal

The project aims to strengthen Malmö´s climate work by developing inclusive and fair strategies to reach the city´s climate goals. Through a knowledge alliance between Malmö University, the environmental administration and the association HÅLLPUNKT, new cooperation models are created that involve civil society, research and decision makers. The goal is to promote citizen participation and jointly design solutions that meet the city´s various needs and challenges.

Expected effects and result

The project strengthens Malmö´s climate work through co-creative methods that combine research and practice. The results are expected to afford Malmö municipality better tools for inclusive climate change, strengthen the role of civil society in sustainability work and increase citizen participation, especially in vulnerable areas. The research world benefits from new knowledge about fair transitions, while our collaborative model contributes to effective and sustainable societal changes.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is implemented in three work areas: Malmö University coordinates activities and compiles lessons learned, Malmö municipality develops climate contracts and policies for collaboration, and HÅLLPUNKT engages civil society through workshops and network meetings. Methods that co-create promote capacity building and knowledge exchange between actors. A concluding seminar gathers all insights to create common guidelines and strategies for future climate work.
