Important results from the project
The project "Uppdrag Klimatambassadör" (Mission Climate Ambassador New Climate Role Models in Industry) developed tailored educational materials to equip employees with tools to become knowledgeable climate role models. The materials, primarily targeting industry and unions but useful across sectors, include an e-course, workshops, and a deep-dive course compendium. Coordinated by Stockholm Resilience Centre in collaboration with multiple partners, the project achieved its goals of broad engagement with the purpose to strengthen climate efforts in workplaces.
Expected long term effects
The project has developed educational materials on a just climate transition, combining new and existing content to provide insights into the climate crisis and the future labor market. Through eight training sessions and/or e-learning, over 450 participants have been trained as potential Climate Ambassadors. The materials, accessible online beyond the project’s end, are expected to reach over 2,000 users and create role models who strengthen the dialogue on climate transition in workplaces and industry.
Approach and implementation
The four work packages focused on course material development, pedagogy, and engagement with the target audience. Early segmentation of activities into modules and the inclusion of cutting-edge research and gender equality perspectives enhanced the material´s quality. Challenges arose in balancing pedagogical simplicity with the subject´s complexity and integrating the justice perspective. Outreach and training achieved broad engagement, but securing buy-in from partners required additional resources. Digital analysis and evaluation provided valuable feedback.
