Purpose and goal
The project aims to make recycling a natural part of how offices are rebuilt. When a new tenant moves in, it is often decided whether the interior is demolished, preserved or replaced with new – decisions that have a major impact on the climate. We are developing an eco-label, a climate database and a digital tool that helps tenants and architects make climate-smart decisions from the start. The goal is to create a system shift where recycling becomes the norm instead of the exception.
Expected effects and result
The project will deliver three main results: HI-labelling 2.0 with climate criteria, an open climate database for interiors and an upgraded Hint platform as digital decision support. The effect will be that recycling is normalised in office development, tenants are empowered as demand-setters and circular business models are supported through clear data, eco-labelling and digital tools.
Planned approach and implementation
The project runs from 2025 to 2027 and is run in six work packages: project management, development of HI-labeling 2.0, pilot project in Västerås with Svenska Kraftnät/Castellum, development of climate database, further development of Hint and communication. The work is done iteratively with tests, referrals and reference group. Results are disseminated via industry forums, training courses and government dialogues.
