Important results from the project
The stage´s goal was to commercially evaluate possible first markets for the company´s sensor technology and conclude in a documented strategic direction. The goals were met and all milestones delivered. The study showed that the originally intended product categories could not be verified as viable business ideas on the available evidence, but it also pointed to new business cases the company wishes to investigate further in the next stage. The company also strengthened its investor dialogue.
Expected long term effects
Longer term, the project is expected to give the company an evidence-based reorientation of its business direction toward more value-creating and more defensible business cases than the original approach. This strengthens its path to becoming investable and being built as a viable Swedish deep-tech company. The underlying sensor technology continues in parallel within the EIC Pathfinder project PIONEAR. The new business cases will be tested further in the next stage before any full shift.
Approach and implementation
The project ran in five activities: hypotheses and framework, secondary data, needs interviews, comparative analysis, and synthesis with a direction. The approach fit, as no demonstrable prototype yet existed. The stage was extended to complete the interviews, as some contacts in one track were hard to reach (offset with secondary data); milestones were delivered. Most unexpected was realizing where the technology´s advantage truly creates value, which explained the outcome and opened new ideas.
