Purpose and goal
The objective was to further develop a competitive research environment and we think we are on a promising trajectory towards becoming an internationally recognized research center and a national competence center on financial intermediation, financial econometrics, and behavioral finance. This positive development stems from increased output of high quality research, including several top-publications, increased research grants, and improved marketing, branding, and visibility.
Expected results and effects
The expectation was that the center´s research and activities should make footprints on the international research front and contribute to financial market participants´ and policy makers’ understanding of where research stands on relevant issues. These expectations have been met by top publications, topical conferences targeting either the international research community or the finance industry. Centre researchers have also participated in various discussion groups and sometimes in media.
Planned approach and implementation
The key ingredient in the positive development is the priority given to international recruitment of world-leading expertise with strong net-works. Without this, publications in top journals, active seminar series and topical conferences with speakers from academia and practice would not have been feasible. Increased collaborations between affiliated researchers and with the surrounding society have also contributed to the positive development.
